Its called the jewel of the California missions. Missions Santa Barbara sits up on a bluff above the city. 
The history & the architecture of this fortress are a big draw for those of us who are visiting the area. 
As part of my recent trip to the area, the mission was a highlight & a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Santa Barbara region.
