3150 Feet Up!

Our family sometimes will give “mystery trips” for birthday gifts & this year for my birthday I was the recipient of one such mystery trip

My brother Jon wouldn’t tell me where we were going as we left the Yakima valley & headed up to the Cascade mountainsAt the base of Mt Si, Jon said “we can make it to the top” & I didn’t let him realize I had my doubts  And so we trudged up this hill that many use for a trail run (their poor knees!) It almost seemed like an international highway, as we met many folks from all over the world who chose to climb this fortress west of Seattle As we made the final push, we wondered if it would be worth the grunt, would it be worth the 3150 foot elevation climb, would the view be worth it?  Unfortunately, the cloudy day gave a less than a spectacular view  But the time spent outside with my brother was well worth it, even though I felt at least a year older the next day 🙂

Awesome! Mt. Si is a TOUGH hike – way to go! P.s. The view IS worth it when it’s not so cloudy. 🙂

    Hi Shereen!

These are really great pics! I’m guessing you and the bro had a blast, even if the hike was a bit of a grunt. : – )
