
Before we headed into Galway that day in June, we thought we’d go check out the abandoned monastery we heard about


Sitting out in the middle of green farm fields, the Ross Errilly Friary was an amazing find



The Franciscan Friary was started in 1351 & has a quite storied history including an attack by Oliver Cromwell & company in 1656



It was finally abandoned in the 1700s & now is a national historic site

An amazing history, a faithful flock & an inspiration to us all
