Weather inversions are a fact of life in central Washington in midwinter. Although it can get a bit gloomy at times, what becomes delightful is when it is cold enough to freeze the fog. Ice crystals form on trees, fences, power lines and all sorts of new creations are ripe for photos.

Sadly, those ice crystals can also form on your lens (or UV filter) and get in the way of photos … ask me how I know. 🙂
