When you go to Asheville as a tourist, its a given, you need to go to the Biltmore
This fortress of a mansion built by the Vanderbilt family over a hundred years ago is an amazing engineering feat and a beautiful estate
As you enter the house, you wonder about the history, who walked the halls, who enjoyed the meals, who slept in the rooms & who helped keep this home as magnificent as it continues to be
As we wandered the hallways, we appreciated the history but were oh so glad that we didn’t have to mop all those floors 🙂

Brought good memories for me. We went to the Biltmore. Beautiful place. We were living in Georgia at the time. One gentleman said “ just because they had all of this doesn’t mean they were happier than you are.
I thought the same thing when I heard how the one daughter sold the estate & ended up in England after several failed marriages
